I see a lot of reviews about excessively long wait times, and while the restaurant was not very busy when I went in, my food was out within 15 minutes. Everything was phenomenal. I had the Love and War with candied sweet potatoes and buttered corn and it was all perfect. My girlfriend ordered the sides sampler with the corn casserole, Mac and cheese, and collared greens with smoked turkey. I tried each one and they were amazing. The fried deviled eggs were great too. I’ve had better banana pudding but I’d still give it an 8/10. Everything reasonably priced as well (especially the drinks during their happy hour).
JoEllens really was a great experience. The vibe, the staff, the drinks and food were amazing!! I love love love our server Shanda!! Had amazing recommendations and amazing energy. I will definitely visit again.
Decided to have breakfast here and I am totally happy with my decision. I ordered the salmon croquettes w/ eggs, cheese grits and wheat toast. My husband had the sampler bkfst called "my endless love" which consisted of shrimp & grits, eggs, sausage patties, 2 pancakes and hash browns. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, hot and flavorful! Our server was great and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great! We would definitely come back to patronize this restaurant.
The staff was very accommodating of our large group and the food and drinks were delicious!!
! It was a very friendly atmosphere. The servers were great and the food was a 10 for me. My sister and my mom went as well. Good was hot both times we went and was brought out quickly
When we were in town this was our first stop and first time ever being here. We didn't stay to dine in only or to go. It did take a while for someone to greet us before we could place our order. Once we placed our order we tried various things on the menu. We tried the collard greens, mac &cheese, boom boom shrimp, grilled shrimp, and banana pudding. Everything was delicious and we admired the fact of it being family oriented and owned. The staff was full of family and that was great to see. The vibe inside was nice as they were playing music while everyone ate and socialized. The young lady that ended up helping us was the granddaughter of the owner. She did a great job and was very patient and helpful towards us. We will be back to dine in next time.
I had the catfish, cheese grits, and scrambled eggs. It was delicious and service and atmosphere awesome! The Saturday drink special was super convenient and the drinks did not disappoint. Me and my crew will be back.
Get the corn casserole, so fluffy, buttery, better than cake! Best I've ever had. Candied yams so good
